Salary Range: $28.89 - $36.10 /hour
Temporary Full-Time position until approximately February 4, 2027, (with potential for renewal), subject to the availability of work.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr. Aaron So in the role of the — Research Data Analyst 1 — (Software Developer) to support the Imaging Program with building and maintaining software that turns imaging data into usable measurements.
Responsibilities may include writing analysis code, develop visualization tools, and help move prototype algorithms toward robust, reusable software.
This is a hands-on role involving work at the intersection of software engineering and medical research. You will work closely with the research team — imaging scientists, trainees, and analysts — and your code will directly support published work and ongoing studies. We are looking for someone who communicates well, works independently, and takes problems apart on their own initiative.
This is a 5 day (37.5 hours) per week onsite position.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field
- Fluency in Python and MATLAB, including scientific and numerical Libraries (e.g. NumPy, SciPy, pandas, or MATLAB equivalents.
- Solid grounding in programming fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and debugging
- Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong self-motivation
- Independent problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver on a defined timeline
- Available to work on-site in London, Ontario for the full length of employment.
Preferred Qualifications- Exposure to medical imaging, computer vision, or image processing (segmentation, registration, filtering)
- Familiarity with medical imaging formats and tools (DICOM, NIfTI, ITK/VTK, 3D Slicer, SimpleITK)
- Experience applying deep learning to imaging tasks (segmentation, classification, denoising)
- Experience writing performant code: vectorization, parallel processing, or GPU computing
- Background in a research environment, or co-authorship on technical or scientific work
- Familiarity with software testing, continuous integration, or packaging tools
Immunization Requirements- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
