Temporary Full-Time position until approximately July 15, 2028, subject to the availability of work, subject to the availability of work.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr. Michael Silverman in the role of the Research Lab Technician in Microbiology/Infectious diseases. This position will assist the Department of Infectious diseases to implement investigator initiated sponsored clinical trials. Responsibilities include study participant recruitment and screening, documenting processes and procedures, manufacturing capsules, performing quality control using standardized techniques in the lab. Communicating and maintaining lab records, lab purchases, maintaining lab stocks and equipment. Conducts routine quality analysis, literature searches and assists with preparing documents. Responsible for providing administrative support and other duties as required by the research team.
Essential Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s in medical laboratory technology, microbiology, biochemistry and equivalent qualification/ work experience will be considered
• Requires excellent interpersonal, organizational and planning skills to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and have the ability to deal with confidential matters
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to communicate effectively general and scientific information both verbally and in writing at all levels
• Good judgement, focus and attention to details, initiative, tact and professional attitude in the workplace;
• Adaptable, flexible and resourceful. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Laboratory skills in microbiology/ biochemistry/molecular biology
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in medical laboratory technology, microbiology, biochemistry and equivalent qualification/ work experience will be considered
• Lab experience in a pharma biotech industry desirable
• Training in ICH/GCP and GMP guidelines.
• Experience with regulatory document preparation
• Phlebotomy experience desirable
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and independently

Immunization Requirements
• Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
• Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
