Salary Range: $42.76 - $53.45 /hour
The successful candidate carries functional responsibility for the grant development support function within the Lawson administrative structure. In addition to providing direct support to hospital-based researchers in the development and submission of grant applications for a variety of funding opportunities the Grand Development Lead acts as the escalation path and mentorship support for the Grants Development Consultant(s). Further, The Grants Development Lead supports external grants of greater complexity (e.g. CFI) and large monetary value. The Grants Development Lead is accountable for the effective organization and administration of the internal funding competitions, external relationship management, and establishment and reporting on key performance indicators. Further, this role is critical in providing policy insight and advice to the Manager, Research Operations as well as Director, Research Strategy and Operations. This is a 5 day (37.5 hours) per week position.
Essential Qualifications
- Master's degree in health-related field
- 4 years of experience (research and/or grant development experience)
- Strong knowledge of research funding opportunities, eligibility criteria, approaches to funding challenges and required elements of grant applications
- Research experience in biomedical sciences, clinical research and/or medical devices
- Demonstrated resilience, sound judgment, and professionalism when leading through ambiguity, competing priorities, and tight timelines
- Strong interpersonal judgment with the ability to navigate sensitive situations, build trust, and support conflict resolution across stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience with grant writing, understanding of technical documents or scientific manuscripts
- Ability to influence and negotiate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications- Certificate in Research Administration and/or completion of Post-Doctoral Fellowship
Immunization Requirements- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
