This is a temporary full-time position that is expected to extend until approximately April 20, 2027, (with potential for renewal), subject to the availability of work.
The successful applicant will be working under the supervision of Dr. Manuel Montero-Odasso, Director of the Gait & Brain Lab, a vibrant and busy hospital-based laboratory implementing clinical studies with older adults. The Research Assistant 1 will work within a multi-disciplinary research team at Parkwood Institute on research studies related to mobility and cognition in older adults.
As a full time, Research Assistant 1, the successful candidate will be required to complete cognitive and gait assessments for various research studies, complete data input and maintain study files, and support research through other designated duties, as assigned. In addition to this, the Research Assistant 1 will work collaboratively with seniors in the community and retirement homes, and schedule participants? follow-up appointments.
Responsibilities may include assisting with patient screening, recruitment of study participants, scheduling visits, conducting study participant interviews and/or assessments, data entry and analysis, literature review and providing administrative support to the research team. Performs well-defined routine assessments on study participants.
This role liaises with patients, research and clinical staff in the conduct of research studies while ensuring compliance with the research study protocols and research policies and regulatory requirements.
