Temporary Full Time
Salary Range: $41.72 - $59.54 /hour


This temporary full-time position is expected to extend until March 31, 2026 - Pending future confirmation of funding, temporary role may be extended.

A unique opportunity exists within Specialized Geriatric Services. A Nurse Educator is required to support patient centered care within a shared leadership environment. The Nurse Educator will have an integral role in staff development and practice excellence. Key aspects of the role would include facilitating clinical problem solving, development of program processes to support clinical practices, as well as role modeling effective interpersonal relationship skills. The Nurse Educator will provide educational support (including orientation and ongoing education) to staff and students as well as support program development, research and quality initiatives and change management. The Nurse Educator will also play a role in supporting regional education and training efforts with partners across the region, including Long Term Care, and Behavioural Supports Ontario staff. Travel within Southwestern Ontario is required.



Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge in Geriatric Care and Musculoskeletal disorders
  • Demonstrates understanding of Adult Learning Principles, excellence in assessing learning needs and in the design and delivery of diverse learning strategies addressing multiple learning styles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience providing effective, outcome focused coaching to individuals and groups (e.g. experience as a preceptor)
  • Demonstrates expert critical thinking and problem solving
  • Experience in supporting colleagues to manage change effectively
  • Proven leadership abilities, initiative and self-directedness
  • Strong organizational, consultation and negotiation skills
  • Evidence of continuous learning and use of relevant literature and point of service tools in clinical practice
  • Demonstrates efficient computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellence in managing multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with and knowledge of the Specialized Care requirements of the Geriatric population
  • CNA Certification and/or enhanced learning in Gerontology
Teaching and Research
  • St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
