Salary Range: $57.10 - $67.14 /hour

Temporary assignment anticipated to extend to October 8, 2027, subject to the availability of work

St. Joseph's Health Care London offers an exciting opportunity for a licensed Pharmacist to practice pharmaceutical care in the Pharmacy Department at Parkwood Institute Main Building. As a valued member of the interdisciplinary team, you will interact with physicians and allied health professionals to optimize drug therapy for residents/patients on the Veterans Care Program. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving drug related problems. Additionally, this position allows for a unique opportunity to assist providers with medication reconciliation at admission. You will work with residents/patients and their families to provide care, to assist and support them, meet their evident and anticipated needs, and enhance their quality of life. You will be a drug information resource and provide input on drug formulary and drug utilization issues. You will be responsible for order verification for your program. Additionally, you will have some responsibility for the main dispensary and coverage of other programs. Our department offers many professional development opportunities, such as student education, research, and pharmacist continuing education.



Essential Qualifications

  • Part A licensed pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • 2 years relevant and recent hospital or community pharmacy experience
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
  • Demonstrate and practice the values of St. Joseph's in daily interactions with staff, patients, and families
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build partnerships and generate consensus
  • Ability to balance multiple and competing priorities on a daily basis
  • Ability to consider and evaluate publications and scientific literature needed to answer questions and prepare comparative evidence-based submissions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience
  • Graduate of hospital pharmacy residency program
  • Demonstrated computer skills with Cerner (PharmNet, electronic health record) and Microsoft Office Suite applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and electronic medication information databases

  • St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
