Salary Range: $63.76 - $75.00 /hour

Temporary position anticipated to extend until March 31, 2026, and is subject to the availability of work

An exciting opportunity exists for the successful candidate to lead teams through change while developing strategies to continually improve patient care. The candidate will lead teams in developing and improving patient care models consistent with patient centered care.

The Clinical Manager of the Post Surgical Care (Inpatient Unit, Post Anesthetic Care Unit and Step-Up Unit) is responsible for the day-to-day operations and the coordination of patient care. Reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services, the Clinical Manager utilizes clinical leadership skills to ensure quality patient care through the planning, operational management, and coordination of human and physical resources. You promote a systems approach to planning, implementation and evaluation as well as have an excellent working knowledge of computers and their applications. You are a self-directed individual with strong problem solving, communication and presentation skills. In addition, the incumbent will play a leadership role in enhancing St Joseph's ambulatory care strategy and will work collaboratively to ensure quality service delivery in a timely and safe manner within a very high paced environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field; nursing preferred
  • Valid registration with a regulated health professional association (e.g. College of Nurses of Ontario)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health care leadership role
  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience in a unionized environment
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of legislation related to Employment, People & Financial Management
  • Previous working experience in a Health Care setting and knowledge of legislation inclusive to working in a hospital
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership, team development, and facilitation skills
  • Experience in performance management, conflict resolution and attendance management
  • Demonstrated experience in program development and evaluation, project management and LEAN training
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ambulatory care and experience in surgical environment (Inpatient Surgery, PACU, OR)
  • In addition, the successful candidate will possess strong Leadership Competencies including lead self, engage others; achieve results; develop coalition; system transformation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Master's degree in a health-related field
  • Experience in budget development and the management of fiscal resources
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center

Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
