Salary Range: $40.24 - $57.68 /hour


An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join our inter-professional eye care team within the Ivey Eye Institute of St. Joseph's Health Care London.

To maintain a premier eye care centre for Southwestern Ontario we need special team-oriented individuals who are enthusiastic about growing and changing in order to help us provide exemplary community service and maintain our renowned clinical, academic and research program.

As an important member of the Ivey Diagnostic Team, you will be responsible for providing intravenous fluorescein for diagnostic imaging of the eye to assist Ophthalmologists in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.



Essential Qualifications

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Valid CPR certificate
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Demonstrated expertise in intravenous injections, insertions and infusions
  • Varied and extensive knowledge base and experience in Ophthalmology
  • Recent experience in an ambulatory care setting within the last 2 years
  • Demonstrated clinic management skills including time management, organization, prioritizing, critical thinking, and problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to function productively in a fast-paced environment with high volume clinics
  • Excellent ophthalmic patient assessment, evaluation and intervention skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work self-directed and independently as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to provide feedback in an open and constructive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative and facilitative manner
  • Evidence of commitment to self-directed learning
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset.
  • Current ACLS
  • Graduate of an Ophthalmic Assistant course

  • St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
