St. Joseph's Hospital continues to expand its role in the treatment of complex medical and chronic disease, illness prevention, research and education. The Regional Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Program and the Trauma and Violence Specialized Primary Care Program (TVSPCP) provide trauma-and-violence-informed care for individuals who have experienced interpersonal, structural, and systemic violence. Thees programs place particular focus on responding to the needs of those impacted by gender-based violence (GBV), recognizing its profound and lasting impacts on health, safety, and access to care. Grounded in evidence and guided by principles of health equity, cultural safety, and anti-oppression, these programs are committed to ongoing research, evaluation, and quality improvement to ensure services remain responsive, accountable, and impactful.
The Regional Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Program in conjunction with the Trauma and Violence Primary Care Program are seeking a Nursing Supervisor to provide clinical expertise, oversight, and support to ensure the delivery of compassionate, trauma and violence informed, and evidence-based care to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. They coordinate and supervise the nursing team, oversee forensic and medical services, maintain quality standards, ensure compliance with legal and ethical guidelines, support program development and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary community and provincial partners to promote holistic survivor centered care and improve health outcomes.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Valid registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- 5 years nursing experience in an ambulatory care setting, including 3 years of leadership experience in a non-unionized and unionized environment
- Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (Will be provided on hire, and must be completed once hired)
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
- Ability to write standards of work and flow chart work processes, establish work priorities, and ensure deadlines are met
- Ability to support and develop diverse teams
- Knowledge about aseptic techniques and routine infection control precautions Knowledge of interpersonal violence and its impact on health and wellness
- Experience dealing with victims of violence
- Demonstrated expertise in decision making, critical thinking and clinical problem solving Demonstrated knowledge and skills in physical assessment and soft tissue trauma Knowledge of health care and organizational/office practices, procedures, and standards Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to offer and receive constructive feedback with fellow team members
- Demonstrated self-awareness and an understanding of personal strengths and weaknesses in pursuit of continuous improvement
- Undertakes personal accountability and shows initiative
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity suite, enterprise and subject matter software, and technology devices
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, listening and teaching)
- Ability to provide education on non-judgmental supportive care to survivors of sexual assault/domestic violence
- Able to work well under stress
Preferred Qualifications- Proficiency in French would be an asset.

Immunization Requirements- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
