Salary Range: $30.49 - $31.17 /hour
This is a temporary position expected to extend until August 10, 2026, and is subject to the availability of work
The Medically Complex Service is a part of the Complex Care Program and comprises two units that provide care for individuals with a variety of chronic and complex medical conditions. An interdisciplinary team provides a holistic and collaborative approach to care focusing on the physical, psycho-social, emotional and spiritual needs of the patients. Our ultimate goal is to earn the complete confidence of our patients, and their families, by providing exceptional care that meets their individualized care needs. The Medically Complex Service provides care to patients who require ongoing medical management as well as rehabilitation following a major medical event, accident or illness. We provide support to individuals with a range of chronic complex conditions including designated beds for patient's requiring chronic ventilator support.
Essential Qualifications
- Either Physiotherapy Assistant and Occupational Assistant diplomas or for dual OTA/PTA diploma from recognized program that includes a placement component
- Demonstrated knowledge of the geriatric population
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, physical and cognitive disabilities and their potential impact on task performance
- Experience with the provision of occupational therapy and physiotherapy treatment such as monitoring ADL programs, positioning aids, wheelchair and seating components, functional mobility retraining in individual and group setting, cognitive therapy and assisting with PROM/AROM exercises
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to work effectively in an inter-professional team environment
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position (e.g. lifts and transfers, able to assist therapist with physical treatment techniques)
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexibility in adapting to varying case load needs
- Knowledge of computer systems
Preferred Qualifications- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Demonstrated initiative with program development/improvement
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in research and program evaluation
- Experience working with geriatric clients

Immunization Requirements- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
