An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse who will play an integral role as a member of the interdisciplinary team caring for Geriatric patients within the ambulatory services of Specialized Geriatric Services



Essential Qualifications

• Current RN certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Valid CPR certification,
• Knowledge of Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with OHSA
• Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
• Experience and knowledge in performing Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments
• Excellent problem solving skills and clinical reasoning skills in complex clinical settings
• Ability to function autonomously and to adapt to constantly changing, unpredictable situations and varying workload
• Knowledge of and ability to mobilize community health resources and systems
• Demonstrated application of case management skills in complex clinical situations
• Superior interpersonal communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills
• Ability to create a learning environment
• Demonstrated evidence-based practice
• Ability to apply effective body mechanics and meet the physical demands of the position
• Ability to travel within the catchment area

• Proficiency in French would be an asset
• Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience
• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BScN)
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in completing Geriatric Assessments
• Experience in community and/or Ambulatory settings
• CNA Certification and/or enhanced learning in Gerontology
