St. Joseph's Health Care London's Pharmacy Department provides care across all St. Joseph?s sites: St. Joseph's Hospital, Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care, Parkwood Institute Main Building and Finch Family Mental Health Care Building, and Southwest Centre for Forensic Mental Health. The Pharmacy Department also provides care directly to members of our community through the two Prescription Shop pharmacies. The Pharmacy Department welcomes learners year-round, including pharmacy technician students, pharmacist students, and a pharmacy resident.

Prescription Shop 1, located inside St. Joseph's Hospital, provides service to patients visiting the various ambulatory clinics at St. Joseph's Hospital, residents at Mount Hope Centre of Long-Term Care, hospital staff, and the general public. The broad patient population at Prescription Shop 1 creates a unique blend of pharmacy practice in a dynamic team environment.
Prescription Shop 2, located inside the Finch Family Mental Health Care Building, specializes in psychiatric medications, such as clozapine, and focuses on seamless transitions of care by processing mental health inpatient discharges and arranging blister packs to support medication adherence.
As a valued member of the interdisciplinary team, you will work together with patients, physicians, and other health care professionals to optimize patient outcomes by resolving drug therapy problems. Our pharmacists are responsible for medication distribution and involved in direct patient care, which may involve working as a clinical liaison with a long-term care facility, patient counselling, medication reviews, administering vaccinations, and prescribing for minor ailments.



Essential Qualifications

  • Part A licensed pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
  • Valid authorization to provide injections by the Ontario College of Pharmacists
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Minimum three (3) years community pharmacy experience
  • Proficiency with Kroll is an asset
Teaching and Research
  • St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series/boosters, XBB or KP.2) OR one dose of KP.2 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
