Salary Range: $43.64 - $51.33 /hour


Specialist, eLearning and Curriculum Development works with the subject matter expert team to conceptualize, storyboard, develop and program engaging, interactive eLearning modules that strengthen St. Joseph's commitment to being a learning organization, fulfills its required (or mandatory) training obligations and advances St Joseph's effectiveness through education and training.

This position will apply best practices and technology-based learning expertise to design and develop eLearning programs to meet specified learning objectives for staff, leaders, volunteers and physician education. This role will apply organizational development principles and practices to create and implement blended learning strategies that include technology-based learning and other delivery mechanisms.



Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Organizational Development or related field
  • Basic or Advanced Instructional Design Certification
  • 3 years of experience conducting needs assessment, designing, developing, evaluating training material and programs, Microsoft Office suite (word and power point), as well as working in a creative and collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of eLearning course development and animation software
  • Relevant experience focusing on learning design incorporating technology based learning methodologies and working with diverse groups of Subject Matter Experts
  • Understanding of AODA requirements
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm to research, learn and apply new tools and technology to learning design
  • Demonstrated creativity in the development of programs / learning approaches / practice change
  • Demonstrated application of quality improvement and rapid cycle design approaches
  • Strong consultation, facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Strong coaching skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team-oriented approach and ability to establish rapport quickly and collaborate effectively
  • Excellent skills in the areas of planning & project management, organizational, time management, multi-tasking, prioritizing
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work independently and/or collaboratively to develop training materials and programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • 2 years of eLearning experience in designing and developing modules/simulations in Canadian Health Care environment
  • Proficiency in Articulate 360 suite
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine (primary series/boosters, XBB or KP.2) OR one dose of KP.2 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
