Salary Range: $40.36 - $56.30 /hour


Temporary employment anticipated to extend until January 31, 2025, subject to the availability of work.

A challenging and exciting opportunity exists to work in a collaborative interprofessional environment delivering services to rehabilitation patients in a specialized rehabilitation setting. This is an ideal opportunity for a physiotherapist that wants to be part of a team of rehabilitation practitioners who are considered leaders in the delivery of rehabilitative care and to actively participate in improving the outcomes of the patients we serve and to the health care system as a whole.

The current assignment is for the spinal cord injury program. This position also may be assigned to, or provides coverage for, other clinical areas within the Rehabilitation Department across both inpatient and outpatient programs.

It is understood that the hours of work reflect the current scheduling arrangements and are subject to change as determined by the Employer.



Essential Qualifications

  • Valid registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Minimum 2 years related experience as a Physiotherapist
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Applicants must have a demonstrated knowledge base in the provision of service to a neurological population including a knowledge base in neurorehabilitation and orthopedics
  • Experience and demonstrated competency in establishing rehabilitation goals and in the implementation of strategies and protocols for goal attainment
  • Demonstrated experience using a patient centered approach
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team setting as well as with case managers, insurance companies and attorneys
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with outcome measurement related to clinical practice
  • Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate evidence-based research into practice
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Assistive Devices Program (ADP) Authorizer
  • Experience in wheelchair and seating assessment, intervention, and prescription
  • Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and relevant interest groups
  • Working knowledge and experience with theories and principles of guiding adult learning and patient self-management approaches
  • Demonstrates initiatives with program development/improvement
  • Demonstrated knowledge regarding the physiotherapy needs for a patient with acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury
  • Knowledge of computer systems (e.g. workload measurement, Cerner, Outlook, Microsoft Office)

Immunization Requirements
  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
