Salary Range: $36.67 - $37.05 /hour
An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Practical Nurse to provide services within the Otolaryngology, Head, Neck and Facial Plastic Surgery department of St. Joseph's Health Care London. This specialized clinic of ambulatory surgery specializes in the care of patients with diseases and conditions requiring, but not limited to, rhinolaryngoscopic procedures, biopsies, minor procedures, post op wound care, and clinical follow up. The successful incumbent will work closely with several Otolaryngologists in providing care to a high volume, fast paced clinic.
It is understood that the hours of work reflect the current scheduling arrangements and are subject to change as determined by the Employer.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Valid CPR certificate
- Proficiency and experience in pharmacology and medication administration
- Demonstrate knowledge of otolaryngology conditions/pathology
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Demonstrated competence in wound care
- Demonstrate ability to work to full scope of practice
- Excellent decision making, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional development
Preferred Qualifications- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Minimum 6 months of surgical experience
- One year recent experience in an Otolaryngology clinic setting in the last 5 years
Teaching and Research- St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements- Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
