Salary Range: $61.90 - $72.82 /hour

This position is responsible to ensure Biomedical Equipment for the St. Joseph's Health Care London organization is unambiguously identified, optimally procured, installed to best meet user requirements, comprehensively tested and maintained to the highest standards throughout the life of the equipment. All equipment will be maintained to current safety regulations/standards to minimize risks to patients and staff using the equipment. The Biomedical Manager will source and manage third party vendors required to support the Biomedical functions at all of the St. Joseph's sites.



Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer
  • Certified in Clinical Engineering (or eligible for certification)
  • 5 - 7 years in positions directly related to Clinical Engineering
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
  • Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
  • Experience in the procurement and ongoing oversite of: outsourced Biomedical Service Provider(s), Vendors, Senior Medical/Nursing, Procurement, Risk Management, Finance, Procurement, IT and Education and Training
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge and experience with Vendor Maintenance Contracts and liaising with vendors/suppliers
  • Knowledge and experience with contract maintenance
  • Experience with Risk Management and Quality Improvement Activities
  • Knowledge, skills and experience in Financial Management
  • Knowledge and experience in the creation of policies and procedures
  • Strong Leadership Capabilities including: Lead Self; Engage Others; Achieve Results; Develop Coalition; System Transformation
  • Travel between organization sites, suppliers, and trade shows as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Engineering
  • Project Management Professional certificate
  • Proficiency in French is an asset
Teaching and Research
  • St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
