Salary Range: $40.36 - $56.30 /hour


An exciting and challenging opportunity exists for a qualified Physiotherapist in the Rehabilitation Program at Parkwood Institute. The candidate will primarily provide physiotherapy services to patients in the Transitional and Lifelong Care Program (TLC). The TLC program provides care to adolescents and adults who have special health and rehabilitative needs related to a physically disability of childhood onset. This includes people with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Rett Syndrome, developmental disability, and other conditions. The candidate will work within an interdisciplinary team to serve this population at the Parkwood Institute Main Building. As part of the role the candidate will provide wheelchair and seating services to those clients with wheelchair/seating needs from within the TLC program.



Essential Qualifications

  • Valid registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Minimum 2 years related experience as a Physiotherapist
  • Current ADP authorizer with recent experience authorizing manual and power wheelchairs and positioning devices (seating) for these mobility devices
  • Demonstrated experience using a patient centered approach
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team setting.
  • Experience and demonstrated competency in establishing rehabilitation goals and in the implementation of strategies and protocols for goal attainment
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative
  • Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to varying caseload needs
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate evidence into clinical practice, including outcome measures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Experience with vocational rehabilitation
  • Experience in community service delivery
  • Working knowledge and experience with theories and principles of guiding adult learning and patient self-management approaches
  • Demonstrates initiatives with program development/improvement

As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
