Reporting to the Coordinator, Facilities Engineering, the Painter is accountable for protective and aesthetic finish to wall surfaces, floors, millwork, furniture and equipment.



Essential Qualifications

  • Current Certificate of Qualification as a Commercial/Residential Painter in the Province of Ontario
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or recognized equivalent by the Province of Ontario
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Minimum of four (4) years recent, related experience as a Painter, preferably within an institutional environment
  • Demonstrated record of satisfactory work performance, and technical competence
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and awareness of technological advances
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as an effective member of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
  • Must be capable of meeting the physical demands required to perform the essential duties of the classification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset

Immunization Requirements
  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and a written commitment to follow any future Public Health recommendations and St. Joseph's Health Care London policies and processes related to Covid management in the workplace.
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
