The Ontario Review Board Quality Specialist will prepare and write high-quality hospital reports to the Ontario Review Board (ORB). The hospital reports provide clinical insight to the ORB on legal issues related to clients with severe and persistent mental illness who have come into conflict with the law. The ORB Quality Specialist will also educate, and provide ongoing support to interdisciplinary teams across the forensic psychiatry program to ensure high quality ORB work. The successful candidate will enhance the quality of the ORB process to fulfill statutory requirements of the ORB.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Social Work is required
- College registration as a Regulated Health Professional (RHPA)
- 3-5 years of clinical experience in the forensic mental health system
- Thorough knowledge of psychiatric conditions and terminology
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Proven ability to lead quality improvement projects, with competency in teaching/coaching others
- Intermediate level (II) proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, written (including report writing) and verbal communication skills, including the ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy with varied groups of stakeholders, including frontline staff, physicians, administrators
- Experience in engaging and facilitating work with groups of stakeholders
- Highly competent and effective presentation and meeting facilitation skills including the ability to present and discuss complex information in a way that enables and establishes rapport, persuades and influences others and gains understanding
- Demonstrated knowledge of Ontario Review Board processes
- Demonstrated understanding of the factors influencing patient risk to the public
- Ability to listen to synthesize information provided by the team and produce a hospital report that focuses on risk-relevant information
- Ability to review data and clinical files to extract information relevant to the preparation of comprehensive reports
- Well-developed organizational and time-management skills
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, take initiative and perform well in stressful environments
- Superior analytical, interpretive and communication skills
- Ability to apply knowledge of the Mental Health Act and PHIPA
- Demonstrated familiarity with legal system and process
- Required to work a flexible schedule at times to ensure deadlines are met
- Demonstrated experience in providing coaching and training to peers
- Demonstrated experience implementing quality improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated experience with professional/clinical report writing
- Demonstrated ability at holding others accountable towards meeting a common goal / deadline
Preferred Qualifications- Proficiency in French would be an asset

Immunization Requirements- Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and a written commitment to follow any future Public Health recommendations and St. Joseph's Health Care London policies and processes related to Covid management in the workplace.
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
