We require an Occupational Therapist to work within an interdisciplinary team providing care to a diverse population of clients including the frail elderly and patients of all ages with a musculoskeletal diagnosis. Specialized Geriatric Services includes the: Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Unit, Geriatric Rehabilitation Unit, Amputee Rehabilitation Unit, Day Hospital and Regional Geriatric Program.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Demonstrated knowledge, skill and ability in the provision of services to the rehabilitation patient population including Musculoskeletal, Amputee and Geriatric patient populations
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational, time management, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Must be capable of establishing positive interpersonal relationships and able to work as an effective team member
- Demonstrated experience using a patient-centered approach
- Self directed and self motivated to accomplish specified outcomes
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice
- Knowledge of and ability to mobilize community resources
- Experience in the development of teaching materials and the teaching of clients, family, and caregivers
- Working knowledge and experience with theories and principles of guiding adult learning and patient self-management approaches
- Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative
- Familiarity with outcome measurement related to clinical practice
- Flexibility in adapting to varying caseload needs
- Knowledge of computer systems (eg. workload measurement, Cerner, Outlook, Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge/experience with assessing mobility devices
- Knowledge/experience of various funding opportunities
Preferred Qualifications- Minimum of 2 years full time related experience as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience in hospital setting
- Demonstrated ability to work with and direct support personnel
- Proficiency in French is considered an asset

Immunization Requirements- Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and a written commitment to follow any future Public Health recommendations and St. Joseph's Health Care London policies and processes related to Covid management in the workplace.
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
