As a member of the Communication and Public Affairs team, the Social Media Specialist plays a lead role in the development and execution of St. Joseph's social media strategy and online presence as a key enabler of brand awareness and education.

Data savvy and driven by measurable results and emerging trends, the successful candidate will have a proven track record for conducting research, benchmarking and evaluation, social media engagement and listening. They also possess a passion for generating content that engages, attracts and influences key stakeholders.

This position will play a critical role in increasing and improving reach and engagement across existing and new social media channels, in support of the organization's strategic communication plan and corporate priorities.

Essential Qualifications

  • College Diploma in Communications, Marketing or Digital Communications
  • Two years professional social media experience required
  • Proficiency in organic and paid social media content and campaign development and management including blogs, podcasts and video sharing sites
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs, including include InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro
  • Experience in social publishing, listening, and various digital reporting/analytics tools (e.g. Meltwater, Sprout Social, Google Analytics)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Superior communication skills including ability to influence
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in health care or non-profit sectors preferred
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
Teaching and Research
  • St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and a written commitment to follow any future Public Health recommendations and St. Joseph's Health Care London policies and processes related to Covid management in the workplace.
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
