The ITS Learning Specialist, in collaboration with the Clinical Informatics Educator, will conduct training needs analyses, design and develop instructionally sound curriculum using a variety of media, and deliver training to support LHSC and St Joseph?s Clinical and Corporate technical products. Working with a broad range of staff and physicians, the ITS Learning Specialist will also assist users with process evaluation and recommendations for further efficiencies where appropriate. The ITS Learning Specialist will also strive to continuously improve the learning offerings and advance the technological capabilities of the organization.



Essential Qualifications

  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education or related experience
  • Demonstrated advance knowledge in Word, and Excel
  • Experience using software for development and delivery of online training (Adobe Captivate, Learning Management System)
  • Experience designing training related to the use of a Health Information System
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult teaching methodology
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years teaching in an adult environment
  • Experience presenting material in front of large and small audiences
  • Excellent ability to translate technical terminology for use by non-technical audiences
  • Flexibility with teaching styles based upon the audience
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated analytical skills in order to evaluate current practices and suggest improvements or alternatives
  • Curriculum development using varied educational modalities to deliver e.g. Web-based quick guides and videos, eLearning, classroom, small group, 1:1 education
  • Strong organization, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous professional experiences working with in a health care setting

  • St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
